T-Mobile wins Macedonian 3G licence

After a bidding process in which it was the only candidate T-Mobile has been awarded a national 3G licence by the Macedonian telecoms regulator, The Agency for Electronic Communications (AEK). T-Mobile, which is paying 10 million Euros for the ten-year licence, will be required to launch its network within six months and have 50 per cent population coverage within a year. Macedonia issued its first 3G licence earlier this year to Cosmofon, which is owned by Greek operator Cosmote.
